CiiRUS Team Member Spotlight: Meet Kristal Boyce
Here at CiiRUS, the greatest pleasure of what we do is in building relationships with customers and partners. After all, the travel and hospitality industries revolve around relationships and quality service. We’d like you to meet and get to know the amazing people behind the scenes who help make CiiRUS the leader in vacation rental software.
In this week’s CiiRUS Team Member Spotlight, meet Wholesale Reservationist, Kristal Boyce. Let’s get to know Kristal as she shares some insight about herself, her role at CiiRUS, and more.
Briefly describe what your role is at CiiRUS.
I work in the Wholesale Reservations department for CiiRUS' Managed Distribution program, also known as Love Rentals. Currently, I input new bookings into CiiRUS from Virgin Holidays & HotelBeds. I also upload bookings to Rental Exchange and accept or decline them from Property Managers. And I audit, cancel, and crosscheck bookings.
What’s the best thing about your job?
Although we had to begin working from home, due to the global pandemic, I have been enjoying it. I love adding new bookings onto Rental Exchange and seeing them being accepted by PMC's.
What does your workspace look like?
Currently, my workspace consists of my laptop and two computer screens on my desk. I also have photos of my grandchildren on the wall and two boxes of Virgin Manifest (Paper of bookings, cancellations, and amendments) that I have inputted into the system.
What has been one of your proudest moments working at CiiRUS?
Since starting at CiiRUS 7 months ago, a memory that sticks out for me was when CiiRUS took in our team that came over from Contempo in Dec 2019. This was a difficult time for our team, mostly as it was at Christmas time. We were all very appreciative of this good-will gesture, and we knew we were working for a good company.
What do you like to do when you’re not at the office?
When I am not working, I enjoy relaxing at home, taking motorcycle rides with my husband, and watching our two grandchildren on the weekends.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by my grandchildren Lima and Clover, and watching them explore and seeing the world through their eyes.
What is something you learned in the last week?
In the last week, I have learned to slowdown, trust the process of life, and enjoy the ride.
If you could pick one superpower, what would it be?
If I could choose one superpower, I would select Memory Wiper—If that's a superpower. I want to be able to remove painful or traumatic memories from those who suffer from events that keep them from moving forward in everyday life.
How do you define success?
Success is to set goals for yourself to achieve, and once you achieve them, set new ones, and being happy with yourself for reaching those goals.
What are some words of advice for others in your profession?
Don't become complacent and keep reaching to be a better person.
