CiiRUS Team Member Spotlight: Meet Kim O'Connor
Here at CiiRUS, the greatest pleasure of what we do is in building relationships with customers and partners. After all, the travel and hospitality industries revolve around relationships and quality service. We’d like you to meet and get to know the amazing people behind the scenes who help make CiiRUS the leader in vacation rental software.
In this month’s CiiRUS Team Member Spotlight, meet Revenue Manager Assistant, Kim O'Connor. Let’s get to know Kim as she shares some insight about herself, her role at CiiRUS, and more.
Briefly describe what your role is at CiiRUS.
I work in the Finance/Revenue Management department for CiiRUS' Managed Distribution program, also known as Love Rentals. I work closely alongside our VP of Revenue Management, Diego Rodriguez, tracking reservation payouts for all the channels we work with, assist with payouts to the property managers, audit and balance the financials of reservations, fight for our customers against chargebacks, and maintain all procedures for the CiiRUS Managed Distribution financial functions.
What’s the best thing about your job?
The best thing about my job is being a part of a close-knit team but having the freedom to use my own brain to bring ideas to the table and navigate obstacles that come our way.
What does your workspace look like?
Organized and tidy! Everything has its place on my desk & surrounding area. I have a few personal items, such as family photos and inspirational quotes that remind me daily about the important things in life.
What has been one of your proudest moments working at CiiRUS?
Although I have only been with CiiRUS for just over 6 months, with most of that time working remotely, I would say that I am proud of the systems the finance team has put in place to track channel payouts so that this daily function works like clockwork, and our customers quickly earn the benefits of their success.
What do you like to do when you’re not at the office?
When I'm not at the office, I enjoy spending time with my family, working on remodeling projects at home, cheering on the Florida Gators, and when I have some quiet time alone, I love to read.
What inspires you?
It may sound like a cliche, but my daughter truly inspires me. She gives me the strength to be the best that I can be every day, and she gives me the courage to push myself to greater lengths.
What is something you learned in the last week?
In the last week, I learned how to review commission invoices on major OTAs, cross-check them in the CiiRUS system for accuracy and how to dispute them if necessary in order to protect our property managers from overbilling. And in my personal life, I have learned how to use my indoor Ninja Foodi grill, which is a huge game-changer in my life!
If you could pick one superpower, what would it be?
I would love to be able to teleport! I think it would be amazing to be able to travel between the past and the future. Teleporting to the past would allow me to visit people who are no longer with us, enjoy some of the simpler times in life and allow me to relive memories. Teleporting to the future would be cool to see what I will be facing in my life.
How do you define success?
Success is if at the end of the day, I can lay my head on my pillow with a clear conscience and feel content in knowing that I gave the day 100% no matter the outcome of the situation, then it was a successful day.
